JACK BAYNE, CREATIVE DIRECTOR / MASTER STYLIST

With over 20 years’ experience, Japonica’s creative director & owner Jack Bayne is well respected internationally for his instruction & creative work in hairdressing. Educating high-end professionals around the globe & regularly participating in the industries most prestigious events has enabled him to stay in tune with, & help shape, contemporary trends and techniques.

ARMANDINE GAULIN, MASTER COLOURIST / SENIOR STYLIST

Armandine is a French hairdresser and makeup artist who has worked in high-end salons for the last nine years and trained at Gina Conway’s five-star Aveda salons. She specialises as a senior stylist for the fashion industry and has worked on numerous top photoshoots, at London Fashion Week, and more. She started her career as a makeup artist in Paris 12 years ago at the renowned Christian Chauveau School before moving into hair. Armandine also specialises in hair up styling, making her the perfect person to do hair and makeup for special events and weddings.

HEATHER, STYLIST

Heather remembers looking through a salon window at age 10 and has wanted to be a hairdresser ever since then. At 14, she began training with Mark Barker in his original salon in Melbourne. Mark himself learnt his craft from his father, world-famous master stylist John Barker. With more than 20 years’ experience in hair, Heather has worked for high-end clients and top salons in Melbourne, Bondi Beach and Antigua, as well as in Brighton and Hove. You can find Heather in Japonica on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

We love what we do and we have great fun doing it. We work in a beautiful environment and our stylists are all about listening to our clients and responding to their needs to create a look that suits their individual hair texture, image and lifestyle. We are keen to work with other talented hairdressers who support this ethos and who like working with natural, sustainable products made without animal testing.
